Cortez resident Ginger Ann Kautz was born March 11, 1965 in Lynwood, California to Charles Ray and Carole Dean (Kendrick) Carson. She passed away on September 26, 2018 in her residence at the age of 53.
Ginger married Kip W. Kautz on June 24, 1984 in Cortez, CO. Surviving Ginger are her husband, Kip Wesly Kautz of Cortez, CO; father, Charles Ray Carson of Arizona; son, Robert "R.C." Kautz of Cortez, CO; sister, Cheryl Carson of Cortez, CO; brothers, Neil Carson (Shannon) and Michael Carson all of Durango, CO; and half-brother, David Carson (Laura) of Oregon. Ginger was preceded in death by her mother, Carole Dean (Kendrick) Carson.

Its hard to say good bye so I will just say I will see you later down the road. I will never forget how you laughed or made me feel important when be in your presence. I loved seeing you and laughing with you. Please know I was so glad I had a chance to say good by when I came last time to cortez. I cried because I remember our time with so much happy moments of our growing up. You the light seem to shine brighter when you where next to people. I love you ginger, later girl. As I said to you say hi to momma for me.

I worked with Ginger at City Market years ago and always loved her outlook. She had a great laugh and could bring a smile to anyone she met.
