Marion Jane Berry, longtime resident of Cortez, CO, passed from this world into the loving arms of Jesus on June 11, 2017. Marion was born August 28, 1933 in Zap, ND. She attended and graduated from Scottsbluff High School, Scottsbluff, NE. She married William O. Olien and in their union had four children: William O. Olien Jr.; Cynthia E. (Olien) Dronen, who preceded her to glory in 2014; Carrie L. (Olien) Gable; and Terry J. Olien.
Later she married Virgil R. Berry of Dolores, CO, who also preceded her to glory. In their union they had a daughter, Virgie R. (Berry) Sherman. She is survived by four of her children, four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She worked at Southwest Memorial Hospital as kitchen supervisor and at the Valley Inn Mancos nursing home. Marion loved life and lived a life of involvement. For over 30 years she was an active member of the Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority and Cortez Lions. She also volunteered, helping 9 Health Fair and St. Francis Hotel for Pets. Marion was always willing to help any person or animal wherever she could. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed by family and friends.
A memorial service will be held graveside at 1 pm July 29, 2017 at the Summit Ridge cemetery, Dolores, Colorado. Pastor Stuart Hanold of Cortez Family Worship Center Four Square church will be officiating.
