Cameron Miller Obituary

Cameron Shay Miller (Woo-Woo) was born on Saint Patrick's Day, March 17, 1998 to Shawn M. Miller and Cynthia S. (Cindie Rodd) Miller at 10:20 p.m. in Cortez, Colorado. She came home with a green cap instead of a pink one, as her family always felt that she was their lucky charm.

Cameron had many trials in her life, due to her being born with cerebral palsy. She started her long journey of operations and physical therapy when she was just three days old. Her disability never slowed her down. She enjoyed riding her dirt bike, dancing, hiking and fishing. She tried cheerleading, volleyball, basketball, and band. There was not any sport or activity that she did not challenge herself with. Cameron did everything she wanted, whether she had anyone to do it with or not. She was not afraid to conquer the world on her own! Through all of her trials, Cameron never asked why her, or complained or wanted to be different.

Cameron packed a lifetime of living into her short 20 years. She traveled throughout the United States and visited many countries with her family. She had an epic senior year of high school, during which she took a CAN course and decided to pursue health care. She then attended 2 years of college at San Juan Community College in Farmington, NM. While attending college, she was able to work as a home health care professional, putting her compassion and caring for others to use. She always put the care of someone else above her own needs.

She loved spending time with family and friends and was always asking, "What are we going to do this weekend?" Her favorite things in life were, riding her dirt bike, traveling, shopping, going to the lake, and binge watching Netflix.

Among Cameron's greatest qualities, was her capacity to love, her compassion for others and her ability to move forward against all odds. She made deep lifetime friendships and was able to experience finding the love of her life, which was epic to her! She had a village of family and friends that helped raise her. She would always say, "I love you too much," instead of the basic I love you. Cameron had a very quirky sense of humor. She was always smiling and so happy to see you, which she showed by giving the best hugs. There are not enough words to express all that she's done and all that she was in her 20 years of life.

Cameron is survived by her parents, Shawn and Cindie Miller. Her mom and dad always felt that she completed them. Her grand-parents, James and Marian Rodd, who were much more than grand-parents to her. Her grand-mother, Cubbi Miller, her great-grandfather, Raymond Lokers, her uncle, Randy Rodd, her aunt and uncle, Shawna and Kenny McLaughlin, her cousins, Ocean Rodd, Chace Gallimore, Cade Gallimore, Haley McLaughlin, Ronni Schuebel, and numerous great-aunts, uncles, and cousins. She is also survived by the love of her life, Brenden Quinonez and her best friend, Kristin Pierce. Her grand-father, Earl Miller, her great-grandparents, Jack and Jimmie Rodd and Mike and Rita Burke and her great-grandmother, Clarissa Lokers, preceded her in death.

Cameron's last words to everyone were, "I love you." The family wants her to know that we all, "love her too much!"

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 6 at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Cortez Cemetery.
