George D. Casey Obituary
August 10, 1924 - June 17,2017 Born to Elmer and Edna Mae Casey in Cortez, Colorado, the family moved to Glendale, California when George was six months old. George married Arline Thompson on March 14, 1947; they enjoyed 70 wonderful years together. They spent most of their time in California but also lived in Durango Colorado and loved visiting family there.George enlisted in the United States Navy soon after the attack on Pearl Harbor in December of 1941. He was assigned to an LCI (Landing Craft Infantry) ship and served his time in the South Pacific. As a licensed CPA, George chose a career with the State of Califonia in the Division of Corporations.

George is survived by his wife Arline of Grover Beach, CA; his son Randal and wife Karen Casey of Durango, CO; his daughter Lori and husband Al Hensley of Arroyo Grande, CA; grandchildren Amber, Cory and Randy; and great-grandchildren Samantha, Shawn, Shabrie and AnnaMae.

George loved to golf, and hike. He enjoyed trips to Los Angeles to watch the Dodgers play, going to the local wineries with his family, and traveling to Colorado to hunt dear and elk. George was the most loving, kind, intelligent and honest man you could ever know. He will be missed tremendously but his loving spirit will be carried on by his family

for eternity.

In lieu of services and flowers, as was George's wish, donations may be sent to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, a no-kill organization that rescues homeless animals to live out their lives in comfort. Donations may be sent to Best Friends, 5001 Angel Canyon Road, Kanab, UT 84740.
