James Moore Obituary
James Arthur Moore, 74, of Greeley passed away September 26, 2017 at TRU Hospice of Northern Colorado. He was born February 12, 1943 in Long Beach, CA to Samuel Josephus and Anne Josephine (Suckla) Moore. The family was originally from southern Colorado and moved to California during the Depression, moving back to Colorado to operate the family ranch.

He graduated from Cortez High School in 1961 and married Jeanene K. Jarrett on December 17, 1961 in Cortez.

The family owned a dairy in southern Colorado, moved to the Haxtun and Yuma areas to farm, relocated to Fort Lupton and helped family on their farm, then settling in Eaton where they owned a mechanic garage in Greeley and later ran a carpet cleaning business, American Carpet and Blinds. James later worked as a dispatcher for H&H Williams Trucking and most recently as a dispatcher for Plains Marketing.

He enjoyed hunting, the farming and ranching life, horses, and cooking for others. While in Eaton, he was active in the Eaton Chamber activities as well as the Eaton Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Jeanene of Greeley; sons, Jay (Tracy) of Farmington, NM, Roger (Erin) and Jon (Janine) all of Greeley; 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; his brother, Sam of Hawaii.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, October 13, 2017 at the Adamson Chapel with a reception to follow. The family will also hold a service in Cortez at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the "American Red Cross" in care of Adamson, 2000 47th Ave., Greeley, CO 80634. Friends may leave condolences at adamsoncares.com.
