Mrs. Laurel "Laurie" Banks (nee Guillet) died peacefully at home on 5/27/2018 in Cortez, CO at the age of 62.
Laurie is survived by her husband of 41 years William "Bill" Banks, her siblings Joan (Larry) Ruble, Adelbert "Del" (Barbara) Guillet III, Betsy Phillips, Marcie Guillet. her two children Kristen Banks & Nate (Ranota) Banks, her four grandchildren Dusti, Tayah, Pacian, & Anastasia. She is preceded in death by her parents Adelbert Guillet Jr. & Evelyn "Ruth" Guillet.
Laurie was born on 2/17/1956 in Cortez, CO to Adelbert Guillet Jr. & Evelyn "Ruth" Guillet (nee Fossum). She graduated from Montezuma-Cortez High School in 1974. She married her sweetheart William "Bill" Banks, in 1977. She was a loving wife, mother, & eventually a grandmother to her family. She always had a word of advice to anyone with a need.
A funeral will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, 6/1/2018 at Cortez Church of the Nazarene, with a reception to follow. Pastor Anthony Maes will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Laurie's life. Arrangements have been made through Hood Mortuary.
