Stanley Victor Chaffin Obituary
Stanley Victor Chaffin was born Nov. 6, 1935 in Yellow Jacket, CO. He passed away on July 11, 2018 in Phoenix, AZ at the age of 82. His parents were Vic and Elsie (Wilson) Chaffin of Yellow Jacket.

Stan had 4 brothers, Douglas (Lynn), Danny, Chan (Jan) and Gary. He also had 4 sisters, Dorothy (Ted) Fowler, Betty Sexton, Marie (Marty) Herr and Shirley Kvasnicka. Stan and his first wife Cora had 4 children, Allen and Victor Chaffin, Julie Gray and Cindy Denton. He also had 2 step-children, Shelly Williams and Jeff Misener. He had 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews.

Stan grew up on the family farm in Yellow Jacket. He attended grade school at Four Corners School and high school at Montezuma County High School. He joined the US Air Force where he served for 15 years. Following his discharge, he worked for Halliburton in the Cortez area and then for the Montezuma County Sheriff's office for 12 years.

Stan and his second wife Lee moved to Phoenix, AZ where he worked at the Arizona State Prison for 15 years before he retired.

Stan liked to hunt and fish, ride horses and camp with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter Julie Gray; brothers Danny and Douglas Chaffin, sister Shirley Kvasnicka, son-in-law Chuck Denton, sister-in-law Kathy Chaffin, brothers-in-law Dave Hess, Earl Sexton and Bill Kvasnicka; nephew Scott Chaffin; and nieces Brooksie Chaffin and Amber Christenson.

We all miss and love him and we will never forget our big brother, Stan Chaffin.

There will be a memorial service on August 12, at 1:00 p.m. at the Lewis Arriola Community Center followed by a potluck dinner.
