Richard A. Fedishen Born in New Jersey on June 29, 1956. He passed away on November 4, 2018 in Cortez, Colorado. For 18 years Richard lived in Cortez, CO. He passed away peacefully at home after a long illness. Richard lived in a Community Connections host home with his loving family Michael Gabrel, Barb Keasler, Larry Sparks, and Derrick Melagos. His brother in law James Gabrel (Texas) and Bitsy, the family pet, survive him.

His three siblings and their families survive him: Karen Stapf Harris (Richard), James Fedishen and Michael Fedishen (Nikki) Eagle. His niece and nephews Adria Graven (Ken) Grand Junction, Ben Fedishen (Sarah) Carbonadale, Nathan Stapf (Melissa) Fort Collins; Great Aunt Mary Beth Lewis; and Cousins, Jackie Frenay (Gary), and Nancy Lewis Brown, Syracuse, NY. Cousins Margie Pittas and Mary Anne Fedshyszyn, Maryland.

Richard was born with disabilities which did not define him. He loved working in the community cleaning the parks, and early on a stint at IFA building irrigation wheels. He was a volunteer at the Goodwill Store and with Meals on Wheels. In Special Olympics, Cortez. He participated in track & field, softball and bowling (his passion). He loved horses, dogs and cats.

Richard was a warm hearted, spiritual and generous man. He appreciated people. He was a lifelong gentleman and a day didn't go by without his saying "I love you" and "thank you." Those who knew him appreciated his amazing artistic talent and his great sense of humor. He will be greatly missed by his many friends and family.

In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to For Pet's Sake of Montezuma County or Special Olympics Cortez.
