Eva Hill Obituary

Eva Mae (Miles) Hill said goodbye to the temporal and embraced the eternal, January 22, 2026. She was born December 1, 1935 to Walter and Mini Miles of Bonnerdale, Arkansas. One of eight children, Eva learned to live life with a great appreciation for family, faith, and hard work. When she was 8, the family moved to Live Oak, California. After completing her formal education in the local school system, Eva attended Bethany Bible College for a year and then married Eugene Hill in 1955. Following their marriage, Eva began a career with PG&E. The couple moved to San Francisco where their son, Craig Hill, was born in 1962. They would transition to Colusa, California in 1964, where Eva was able to continue her relationship with PG&E, retiring in 1999. Though a working wife and mother, Eva kept an immaculate home, providing consistent care for her family and serving as a splendid host for company. She sowed, tended to their yard and flower garden, and held a special love of roses. She enjoyed travel, visiting numerous countries and favorite vacation spots. Her family grew with the birth of her only grandson, Josh, to whom she was very devoted. Josh and his wife Mallory would provide Eva with two great granddaughters, Brooklyn and Tatum. Throughout her life, Eva maintained her relationship with the Lord, attending church regularly and enjoying a daily devotional time. Eva was known for her kindness and always looked perfect for the occasion, carrying herself with grace and elegance. She spent the last few years of her life in The Courtyard in Yuba City, California. Eva was preceded in death by her husband, Gene, her parents, Walter and Mini Miles, and her 7 siblings: Alice Burk, Marge Palmer, June Hearn, Guy Miles, Garvin Miles, Gwen Stillwell, and Walter Miles, Jr. She is survived by her son, Craig Hill and his wife, Maria, grandson, Josh Hill and his wife, Mallory, and two great granddaughters, Brooklyn and Tatum. A memorial service will be held, February 10, 2026, 10:00 am, at Sutter Cemetery, 7200 Butte Ave, Sutter, California. Followed by a reception at The Ranch House, 111 S. George Washington Blvd, Yuba City, California, corner of Franklin and George Washington
