A Heartfelt salute to Lt. Col. Jackie V. Woods, USAF Retired..... My Dad retired as a Lt. Col. USAF as well. He was in the 8th Air Force, 353rd Fighter Group "Slybird Group" @ Raydon Field in England in WWII. After the war he returned to Memphis and ran the family business - Harbin Amusement Service - servicing Juke Boxes, those sand suffleboards, and Pin-Ball Machines they had in eating places and bars around Memphis, Mississippi and a few in Arkansas. He was part of the Air National Guard in Memphis until his eyesight forced his retirement. He lived on Beatty Cove in Memphis until his death August 11, 1987 @ 63. So, I feel he would be glad for me to salute Mr. Woods. Perhaps, they met once @ the Airport?? I'd like to think so....
