Fran Ware

April 5, 1940 - January 29, 2026

Fran Gallahan Ware of Colonial Beach, Virginia, went home to be with the Lord on January 29, 2026. She was 85. Born in Fredericksburg, Virginia, Fran was a life-long resident of Colonial Beach and loved living on the Potomac River.

Fran is survived by her three children, Leslie Ware Zanki (Steven), Holt Ware (Karri), and Forrest Ware (Tamara); nine grandchildren, Dylan, Josephine, Grayson, Elizabeth, Holt Jr., Latane, Macon, Essex, and Bedford; and two siblings, sister, Leslie Gallahan DaCorsi, and brother, William Barnes Gallahan. Fran was dearly loved by her extensive family and leaves behind many cherished friends.

The family will receive friends at a visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, February 13th, at Storke Funeral Home, Colonial Beach, 31 James Monroe Highway, Colonial Beach.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 14th, at Colonial Beach Baptist Church, 10 Garfield Avenue, Colonial Beach, with a reception to follow in the fellowship hall.

A private burial for immediate family will follow that afternoon at Historyland Memorial Park in King George.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Colonial Beach Baptist Church.
