James Brooker Obituary

Jim was born to Walt and Marie Brooker on March 28th, 1942. He was raised in Port Angeles with his brother Bill and sister Joanne, where they had many adventures. He enlisted in the navy at 17 years old where he participated in several boxing matches, earning him the nickname "Rock". He worked as a millwright at Rayonier Mill until it's closure and Port Townsend Paper Mill until his retirement. Jim enjoyed hiking, fishing, scuba diving and anything to get him outdoors in nature.
To keep busy after retiring, he did handyman jobs around town and was a faithful volunteer to Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County. Sadly, his devoted wife Judi passed in February of 2021 and Jim passed away almost exactly five years later on January 2nd, 2026 at the age of 83.
He leaves behind sons Wade and J.D. (Annie), daughter Heidi (Bryan), two beautiful granddaughters, Ella Dawn and Baylee James, brother Bill and sister Joanne. Jim was preceded in death by his wife Judi and son Jason.
He climbed mountains, ran marathons, and was the greatest husband and father anyone could ask for. He was a kind, honest, hardworking man who would do anything to help others. He will be missed.
Donations can be made in Jim's memory to:
Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County, 829 East 8th St., Port Angeles, WA 98362

Jim worked for me at Rayonier Mill. Jim was a great man and will be missed by all that knew him. He was a very gentle person.

I worked with Jim at Rayonier Mill for 25 years and always considered him a friend as well as a co-worker. Jim was truly a nice man and great to work with. We worked in different shops/trades but said "Hi, how's it going?" most every day. Enjoy your cup of coffee with other Rayonier guys up there Jim, I'll have a cup with you one of these days.
