Cherie A. Eberwine passed away on February 16, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on September 16, 1946, in Richmond, VA, Cherie spent her final days surrounded by the warmth of her family in Absecon, NJ. Cherie attended Kilgore College, TX, from 1964 to 1966, where she served as a member of the Kilgore Rangerettes. She began her career as a gym teacher in Newark, NJ, from 1966 to 1967, and cultivated her love for dance and rhythm as a dance and baton instructor at GTAA. Cherie was the proud owner and heart of The Sweet Tooth, a beloved candy store she helmed for five decades. Cherie is predeceased by her brother Lenny Mintz as well as her mother and father, Herston and Virginia Mintz. She is survived by her beloved husband, James Eberwine. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Tara Brown Gubbins (Sean), and Tammy Brown Elwood (Dave); and Andy Eberwine (Myra), Debbie Eberwine and Sharon Eberwine. As well as her grandchildren, Sean Jr., Justin (Ema), Alexi, Nick, Cassidy, Emily, Delanie, and Rylie, Braydon, Riley, John (Tayla), Crystal, Kristen, Jenna; and great-granddaughter, Makinley.
A gathering of friends and family will be held on Saturday, March 1st, from 11 a.m to 12:30 p.m., with a service to begin at 12:30 p.m., at the Wimberg Funeral Home in Galloway, 211 E. Great Creek Rd., Galloway NJ 08205. For directions and condolences, please visit Wimbergfuneralhome.com.

Hard to believe that´s been a whole year since she has been gone miss her every day.Cheri and I share a special date her birthday was September 16 and my anniversary is September 16 so we used to speak about that a lot well God bless you, Cheri God bless you in heaven. Jim is missing. You terribly, you were his one and only.

So sorry to read about Cherie´s passing, I knew Cherie from Sweet Tooth it was always a pleasure seeing her. She would always help me with ideas for my projects. She will be missed.
