Jay was a long-time friend of my husband, Henry. He was the coach of a men's softball team that, whether they won or lost, there was always a celebration at some local bar. Jay and Henry had many long and spirited conversations about all sports but especially the Dodgers. Norv and Arlene's basement was a favorite hang-out. My deep condolences to his family but it is comforting to know that the two old friends are once again debating and supporting their teams. Rest in peace, Jay.

I was on the Debate Team with Jay in 1970-1972. To tell the honest truth, most of the stories I have about him are second hand, and a lot of them were told by him. In those days, he liked to be the center of attention among a group of some of the smartest kids ever to go to TJ. He had an ongoing love of Wilt Chamberlain, Ron Stander, and George Wallace, along with a very famous refreshment which in those days was only sold in Colorado. Jay had good enough persuasive ability that one time he challenged some of us to a pickup football game, and showed up with about half of the varsity. He repeated the feat a few years later when his softball team had a couple of all state baseball players on it. I did not keep track of him after that. The people around him later on will have to fill in the blanks. Pleasant Journey, Jay.
