Died: February 1, 2026 in Joliet, IL
Christine Harriet Clink, née Dolan, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2026, at Lightways Hospice Center in Joliet, Illinois, surrounded by her loving family. Born on April 7, 1936, in Waukegan, Illinois to Carter H and Mary E (DeBevic) Dolan.
She graduated from Joliet Township High School in 1954 and married Robert W. Clink in 1958 at the Church of St. Anthony in Joliet. Their marriage of 68 years was a testament to enduring love, blessed with two daughters, Laura and Vicky. While Christine briefly worked at Illinois Bell in Joliet, she dedicated most of her life to being a devoted homemaker.
A committed member of both Christ Church and St. Edwards Episcopal Church, Christine actively participated in the Altar Guild and contributed to church events with her highly sought-after baked goods. Her hobbies reflected her creative spirit, including ceramics and sewing, through which she crafted clothes for her daughters with remarkable skill. She lovingly upheld family traditions like baking Potica, a treasured recipe passed down from her mother, and sharing festive cookies during the holidays.
Later in life, Christine and Robert enjoyed traveling, especially with their close-knit group of high school friends affectionately known as "The Golden Girls and the Grumpy Old Men." Among her fondest memories were vacations to New Smyrna Beach with her daughters and granddaughters and a special family trip to Disney World in 2019 to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary.
Christine will be remembered for her kindness, her beautiful singing voice, her sparkling sense of humor, and the lasting friendships she cultivated over a lifetime. She leaves behind her beloved husband Robert, daughters Laura (Roger Ostrovecky) and Vicky, grandchildren Alexandria Clink and Anyssa Ostrovecky, as well as her niece Judith (Rhoades) Edminster and nephew Brian Rhoades.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Mary (Dolan) Rhoades, brother-in-law Harlan Rhoades, in-laws Robert and Virginia (Talarico) Clink, along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A celebration of Christine's life will be held on March 7, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m., at St. Edwards and Christ Church, 206 N Midland Ave, Joliet. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Lightways Hospice of Joliet in her memory.
