Bernice Glazier Obituary

BERNICE GLAZIER

Age 82, of Voorhees, NJ, passed February 10, 2026. Bernice Zahn Glazier was born October 25th 1943. She was the youngest child of Florence and Jacob Zahn, with sister Rita who was seven years older. Bernice grew up in Camden, NJ surrounded by her Zahn family aunts, uncles and many cousins. Her Tauber family lived close by in Philadelphia.

Bernice was an outstanding student, graduating from Camden High school in 1961. She loved drama and participated in school productions. She was also a participant in the annual formal speech contest. Bernice would go on to complete a BA in education at Douglass/Rutgers University. She taught in Camden initially but spent most of her career teaching middle school English in Cherry Hill. Bernice was beloved by both students and colleagues. She was an assistant director for the middle school theater productions for many years.

Bernice married her husband Howard Glazier in September 1976. They were married for 38 years until he passed away in 2014 . They resided in Medford, Marlton and Voorhees. They did not have children, but Bernice doted on her nieces Susan and Barrie, her great nieces Julia, Rachel and nephew Jacob. She loved spending time with them and was also very close with her husband's nieces Faith and Kelly and nephew Chip and their families.

Bernice was a loving, kind and compassionate person. In addition to her large family, she had many friends who were in her life for many years.

After she retired from teaching in 1999, Bernice became actively involved as a volunteer for the Raab Goodwin Holocaust Center. She was an educator, trainer and tour guide there. She also led the team selecting students to be chosen for the Dubois Scholarship Award.

Bernice cherished her family and friends. She loved seeing movies, going to the theater, going out to eat, clothes shopping, chocolate and ice cream. She will be missed by many.

Bernice was predeceased by her parents Florence (Tauber) and Jacob Zahn, husband Howard and sister Rita Weinberg (Alan). She is survived by her nieces Susan Levy and Barrie Weinberg Urbano, great nieces Julia Scherer (Josh) and Rachel Urbano, great-nephew Jake Levy.
