Adin Webb Obituary

Retired Army Col. Adin Richard "Dick" Webb, a well-respected military officer, devoted husband, father and friend, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, February 13, 2026, with his loving family by his side while under the care of hospice.
Dick was born on March 17, 1932, in Kansas City to the late Adin Hilton Webb and Eda Myers Webb. He was a graduate of Lincoln High School and went on to earn his bachelor's degree from Kansas State University. Continuing his dedication to education and excellence, he received his master's degree from Tulane University and later earned his doctorate from Kansas State University.
In 1954, following his graduation, Dick enlisted in the United States Army, beginning a distinguished military career that spanned 36 years. He faithfully served his country during the Korean War and throughout the Vietnam War. Rising through the ranks with integrity and honor, he retired in December 1990.
Throughout his service, Dick received numerous awards, ribbons and medals in recognition of his leadership, dedication and exemplary service to his nation.
In November 1980, Dick married the love of his life, Charlotte. Together, they built a life rooted in faith, service and devotion.
He was a faithful member of Hinesville First United Methodist Church and gave generously of his time as a volunteer for many causes and organizations within the community.
Dick loved to travel and embraced life with curiosity and gratitude. A true gentleman in every sense of the word, he was known for his warm smile, steady wisdom and gracious spirit. He touched countless lives with his kindness, encouragement and unwavering example of honor and humility.
He liked to think of himself as the BBQ extraordinaire, and he did make some BBQ.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Charlotte Webb of Gum Branch; his children, Richard Douglas Webb of Colorado Springs, Robert Michael Webb (Theresa) of Kansas City, Cheryl Ann Groover of Alpharetta and Donna Marie Groover of Hinesville; four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, along with extended family members and dear friends who will cherish his memory.
Dick's legacy of service, faith and integrity will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Pallbearers: Jon Long, Kevin Corwin, Ty Swindell, Joey Harrison, Stacy Dasher, Ricky Gosseck and Gene Edwards.
Honorary pallbearers: Jack Waller Sunday School Class, Speir and Gail Flanders.
The funeral service will be held Thursday, February 19, 2026, at 1 p.m. at Hinesville First United Methodist Church with Dr. Rev. Tony Caldwell officiating.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
Burial will follow at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery at 3 p.m., with full military honors being rendered.
