Charles F. Pecar, 80, of Arden Court of Jefferson Hills, formerly of East McKeesport, died Friday, February 13, 2026. He was born April 11, 1945 in McKeesport, the son of the late Frank and Ann (Duhan) Pecar and was also preceded in death by his wife of 46 years Jo A. (Voyce) Pecar and his sister Barbara Ann Pavlic. Chuck served in the U.S. Coast Guard and retired as a lock & dam operator for the Army Corps of Engineers. When not working, Chuck enjoyed traveling to all 49 states, eating great food with his wife, riding his Harley, and spending time with his grandkids. He loved fishing, golfing, and spent many years on his boat with his family. He was proud of his Croatian heritage and was a member of the Croatian Fraternal Union. Chuck loved music, playing his records, and was known to sing and dance on any occasion. He is survived by his daughter Kimberly Amatucci (William) and Janeen Garancsi (Michael); the mother of his children Darlene Lofgren; six grandchildren Nicholas Amatucci (Sammie), Christina Amatucci (Seamus), Gina Amatucci, Michael Gray (Mallory), Michael Garancsi Jr., and Vinny Garancsi (Kalyn); his great grandson Charley Amatucci; and nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, February 15, at the Forgie-Snyder Funeral Home, 1032 Broadway, East McKeesport, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, February 16. He will be laid to rest next to his wife at Good Shepherd Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a contribution can be made to Arden Courts 380 Wray Large Rd. Jefferson Hills, PA 15025. Dear Kimberly & Janeen,
Your father, Charles, was a good friend of my father, Al Johnson. He & Joey had many fun times together with both my father & mother (Cass).
They loved Dad's cabin where they spent a lot of time fishing & hunting. After my dad passed in 2009, Chuck posted a picture of Dad in his garage! Our family especially admired Chuck & Joey for keeping up with my widowed mother after Dad died. She lived alone for the next 9 yrs. until she died at age 96. During that time they often called her, took her to lunch, & encouraged her to go with them on long, scenic, enjoyable, relaxing rides in their car (at a time when she usually refused to go anywhere else anymore). It meant a lot to her as most of her friends were deceased already, but Chuck & Joey never forgot her & she rarely turned them down. She loved them. Christ said that whatever we do to/for others we do for Him, so may Chuck's kindness all return to him many times over now. I never would have thought of doing that for a widow, but he did. May he be blessed abundantly & may I learn from his example. I am so very thankful for his kindness to both Dad & Mom & how he made them so happy by fussing over them in their old age. We all are. In talking to him a few times after Joey & Cass had both passed, he seemed very sad, but spoke very highly of his beautiful daughters & his lovely ex-wife. He loved all of you very much. I am sure Arden Courts was a good place for excellent care at the end & that he is in heaven with Joey again now riding a motorcycle & smiling down at all of you. God Bless.
