Dear Kimberly & Janeen,
Your father, Charles, was a good friend of my father, Al Johnson. He & Joey had many fun times together with both my father & mother (Cass).
They loved Dad's cabin where they spent a lot of time fishing & hunting. After my dad passed in 2009, Chuck posted a picture of Dad in his garage! Our family especially admired Chuck & Joey for keeping up with my widowed mother after Dad died. She lived alone for the next 9 yrs. until she died at age 96. During that time they often called her, took her to lunch, & encouraged her to go with them on long, scenic, enjoyable, relaxing rides in their car (at a time when she usually refused to go anywhere else anymore). It meant a lot to her as most of her friends were deceased already, but Chuck & Joey never forgot her & she rarely turned them down. She loved them. Christ said that whatever we do to/for others we do for Him, so may Chuck's kindness all return to him many times over now. I never would have thought of doing that for a widow, but he did. May he be blessed abundantly & may I learn from his example. I am so very thankful for his kindness to both Dad & Mom & how he made them so happy by fussing over them in their old age. We all are. In talking to him a few times after Joey & Cass had both passed, he seemed very sad, but spoke very highly of his beautiful daughters & his lovely ex-wife. He loved all of you very much. I am sure Arden Courts was a good place for excellent care at the end & that he is in heaven with Joey again now riding a motorcycle & smiling down at all of you. God Bless.
Love,
Penny (Johnson) Maricic
