Christopher Shields Obituary

Greenville – Christopher Owen Shields, 80, passed away on February 2, 2026, at Northern Light CA Dean Hospital in Greenville. He was born on July 1, 1945, in Biddeford, Maine, the son of Susan (Bean) Shields and Frederick Shields Sr.

Christopher graduated from Kennebunk High School and Husson College, where he earned a degree in Business and was a member of the Kappa Delta Phi Fraternity. He cherished summers spent at Pequawket Lake, often found on his boat with family or pulling loved ones waterskiing. Later in life, Christopher fulfilled his lifelong dream of residing in Greenville with a view overlooking Moosehead Lake.

While living in Greenville, Christopher became a highly respected business owner, operating the local NAPA Auto Parts store and serving as a pillar of the community. He was known for his generosity, frequently donating to and participating in community events. Christopher also took great pride and enjoyment in serving as treasurer of the Moosehead Riders Snowmobile Club, where many of his fondest memories were made.

Christopher is survived by his wife, Cecile (Mathieu) Shields; his son, Thomas Shields and wife, Michele; his daughter, Susan Smith and husband, Earl; his grandchildren, Jack and Sara Shields, and Paige Smith; and his brother, James Shields and wife, Minerva. He was predeceased by his parents, Susan and Frederick Shields Sr., and by his brothers, Frederick Shields Jr. and David Shields.
