Constance Bonner Obituary

Constance "Connie" Russell Bonner, born July 23, 1932, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was the beloved daughter of Alexander and Dorothy Russell.

Connie was predeceased by her devoted husband and best friend of 63 years, William X. Bonner; her sister, Eleanor; and her brother, Lex. She is survived by her three sons, Bill Bonner (Debbie), Jim Bonner, and Bob Bonner (Kris); her cherished grandchildren, Tim, Brent, Chad, Haley, Tiffany, Helen, and Henry; her adored great-grandchildren, Jack and Sutton; her sister, Donna; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Raised in Chestnut Hill, Pennsylvania, Connie met the love of her life, Bill, on a playground as a young girl. From the very beginning, she would say she knew he was the one she would marry. After graduating high school, Connie worked at Western Electric while Bill attended Penn State University before being drafted into the U.S. Army during the Korean War. When he returned home, they became engaged and were married in 1955, beginning a partnership that truly was one for the storybooks.

Their marriage was defined by deep love, resilience through life's challenges, and unwavering devotion to family. Together they built a beautiful life, first raising their family in Mt. Laurel, New Jersey, and later moving to LeisureTowne in Southampton, New Jersey. Along the way, they created a lifetime of adventures, traditions, and treasured memories.

Connie's life was filled with laughter - often her own. She had a gift for turning any gathering into a celebration and was especially fond of hosting family and friends at the family beach house in Barnegat Light, New Jersey. Her infectious laugh could be heard from any room in the house and often left everyone around her laughing to tears. She had a warmth and joy that drew people to her effortlessly.

An avid athlete with a fiercely competitive spirit, Connie loved golf, bowling, and games of all kinds. She bowled well into her later years, finally stepping away only when she decided her scores no longer met her standards. She enjoyed golfing with friends at Ramblewood Country Club and was widely known within the family as the card champion - never one to let the grandchildren win simply because they were young. She believed competition-built character. She loved her Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles -unless they were losing, then she had plenty to say from the couch!

Above all, Connie was grateful - grateful for her husband, her family, her friends, her good health, and the full life she was blessed to live. She found great joy in seeing her family grow and was especially thankful to witness the births of her great-grandchildren.

Her legacy is one of laughter, loyalty, strength, and enduring love. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered. Her laughter will echo in our hearts forever.

A Celebration of Life will be held on the 18th of April from 12 noon to 4 PM at the Indian Springs Country Club, 115 S. Elmwood Rd, Marlton NJ
