Dale Rossow Obituary

Dale Roy Rossow, 87 a lifelong resident of Ira Township passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 1, 2026 at home following a lengthy illness.

Dale was born to the late Roy and Mary (Carter) Rossow on April 26, 1938. He graduated from Marine City High School in 1956 where he participated in many sports. In 1957, he joined the United States Army, where he served in the special forces in Germany.

Dale was a dairy farmer on the Centennial Rossow Farm for many years until the cows were sold to the government. Until his retirement, he drove double tandem trucks hauling gravel, etc.

After retiring, Dale enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking and sports, especially the Michigan State Spartans-Go Green! He was also a member of the NRA and the Fair Haven FOE #2784. The "farm" (as it was affectionately known) was always open to friends and family to stop by for some good conversation, food and a cold beer!

Dale is survived by his beloved and devoted wife Nancy (Mahn) whom he married on February 3, 1967. Together they had two sons; Benjamin Roy and Jason John who predeceased him (Benjamin in 1967 and Jason, a MSU Graduate in 2002). Also predeceased by his parents Roy and Mary Rossow and dear sister Beverly and brother-in-law Paul Vogel, in-laws Fred and Marguerite Mahn, brothers-in-law Laverne Mahn and Richard McClintock and dear sister-in-law Karen Mahn. Besides his loving wife Nancy, Dale is survived by his brother-in-law Alger Mahn and sister-in-law Lila McClintock and his "special" nieces and nephews, who all loved their Uncle Dale dearly and were frequent visitors and very much part of his life throughout the years.

Per Dale's wishes, he has been cremated. A service will take place at St. John's Lutheran Church located at 51161 Maria Street in New Baltimore with military honors, on Saturday, February 14, 2026 at 11 a.m. Memorial visitation for Dale will begin at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the Church. He will be interred at Oakwood Cemetery in New Baltimore, Michigan at a later date. A luncheon will follow at The Fair Haven FOE #2784 on Palms Road.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Nancy would like to take this time to thank several close neighbors who helped in so many ways to care for Dale over these last several months.

You may have lost the battle Dale, but you won the War! You can finally rest in God's eternal peace with your beloved sons Benji and Jason.
