Kaye Hoover Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by A Natural State Funeral Service & Crematory on Feb. 5, 2026.
Kaye Naylor Hoover, 77, passed away on Monday, February 2, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on October 2, 1948, in Memphis, Tennessee, to Hazael and Louise Naylor.

Kaye devoted much of her life to serving others. She spent her career nurturing children and young people as a children's minister and youth director in United Methodist churches across Arkansas, and later as the director of the Child Development Center in downtown Little Rock. Through her work, she touched and shaped the lives of countless children and families. Her faith was a steady, guiding force in her life, and she remained active in her church community throughout the years.

Kaye also had a deep passion for Ozark Mission Project, where she served for many years as a camp director and dedicated board member. Through this ministry, she lived out her lifelong calling to love children, support families, and strengthen communities across the state.

In recognition of her impact, Kaye received the 2006–2007 Steel Hendrix Award at Hendrix College for her work in children's ministry. This past summer, she was honored at First United Methodist Church as a speaker in their Living Legends series.

Some of Kaye's favorite moments were the simple, joyful ones spent with her family. She loved being on the lake, fishing, crafting, sewing, and wandering the aisles of TJ Maxx. One of her favorite sayings was, "Love you more." She delighted in all things Christmas, bright colors, and an ice-cold Diet Coke.

Kaye was preceded in death by her parents, Hazael and Louise Naylor, and her brothers, Jimmy Naylor and Eddie Naylor. She is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years, Paul Hoover; her daughters, Jennifer Sullivan (Wes) and Jill Dyer (John); and her sons, Vincent Hoover and Ross Hoover (Megan). She leaves behind her treasured grandchildren: Julia Hughes (Grant), Wade Hoover (Jenna), Riley Rosenow (Brady), Clara Sullivan, Hope Dyer, Noah Dyer, Emmy Dyer, Annie Dyer, Laken Hoover, and Waylynn Hoover; and one great-grandchild, Hazel Hughes. She is also survived by her brothers, Bobby Naylor (Margaret) and Bill Naylor (Janet), along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, several who considered her a second mom or "Mimi," and many close friends.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 6, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, 723 Center Street, Little Rock, Arkansas, with a reception to follow.
