Richard Brogan, 78, of Chicago, Illinois, passed away February 5th peacefully and surrounded by his favorite people. After a life marked by love, loyalty, and quiet strength, he is now reunited in heaven with his beloved wife, Celine, whom he missed dearly.

A proud Vietnam Veteran, Richard served his country in the United States Army with honor. His service reflected the same sense of duty, humility, and perseverance that defined his life.

He leaves behind his sons, Richard (April) and Tim (Kelly), and his seven cherished grandchildren—Brianna, Delaney, Aidan, Ronan, David, Amelia and Madelyn, —who brought him endless pride and joy. He is also survived by his faithful companion and buddy, Butkus, who was always close by and rarely left his side.

A simple man in the best sense of the word, Richard found joy in life’s everyday moments. He loved watching sports, taking walks around the neighborhood, and never turning down a good slice of pizza. He didn’t need much—just good company, familiar routines, and the comfort of family nearby.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his steady presence, his quiet love, and the way he made those around him feel safe and cared for. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

An Irish Blessing

May the road rise up to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
And the rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
