Jessie Allen Obituary

Jessie Ann Elizabeth Allen, of Rockford departed this earthly life January 30, 2026. She was born April 20, 1952 in Corinth, MS the daughter Lee and Mary Mays. Jessie lived in Rockford since she was 2 years old coming from Corinth. She married Fred Allen June 19, 1971. Jessie was employed as a Lunch Aid, Crossing Guard and Hall Monitor by the Rockford Board of Education over 25 years before retiring. She was a member of State Street Church of Christ, serving as a Sunday School Teacher. Jessie graduated from West High School class of 1971.

Jessie leaves to cherish many loving memories, her husband, Fred Allen; daughter, Tamara Hobson; four grandchildren, Tijhana, Tarrique, Fantasia, and Tavian; great grandchildren, Soldier, Kamiya, Abrelle and Amaria; sister, Linda Mays; a host of other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Lee and Mary Mays; son, Frederick Allen; and grandsons Antonio and Lavontay.

Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N. Johnston Ave. Burial in Cedar Bluff Cemetery. Visitation 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
