Juan Francisco Bonilla III, affectionately known to many as “Shark,” “June,” and “Junito,” passed away on February 7, 2026, at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Bridgeport, Connecticut. He was 31 years old.

Juan was born on July 20, 1994, at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Bridgeport, CT, to Eileen Rivera and Juan Francisco Bonilla II Jr.. A lifelong resident of Bridgeport, Juan was raised in the community he loved and where he built lasting friendships and meaningful connections throughout his life.

Juan was a proud graduate of Bassick High School. Known for his strong work ethic and determination, he worked as a truck driver, a profession that reflected his dedication and commitment to providing and building a future for himself and his family. He approached life with strength and resilience, always striving to do his best.

Those who knew Juan will remember him as hardworking, loving, adventurous, and compassionate. He had a vibrant spirit and a presence that could light up a room. He deeply valued spending time with his family and friends, whether it was sharing laughter, listening to music, or simply enjoying each other’s company. His loyalty and protective nature earned him the nickname “Shark,” but those closest to him knew his heart was tender and full of love.

Juan was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Mesa Greenridge, with whom he shared a special bond built on love, friendship, and partnership. Although he had no children, he poured love into his nieces and nephews and cherished the role he played in their lives.

He was predeceased by his loving sister, Jessica Bonilla, and his pet Major, whose memories he carried in his heart.

Juan leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Mesa Greenridge; his loving parents, Eileen Rivera and Juan Francisco Bonilla II Jr.; and his siblings, Joshua Santos, Ivan Bonilla, and Jayleen Rodriguez. He is also survived by his grandparents, as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and hundreds of friends whose lives were touched by his presence.

Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of Juan’s life on Thursday, February 19, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Community Funeral Chapels, 798 Park Avenue, Bridgeport, CT 06604.
