Janice Mae Parrish Hart, age 78, of Sanford, NC, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at Peak Resources in Carthage, NC with her family by her side.

She was born in Lee County on July 3, 1947 to the late Elijah Raymond Parrish and Mary Ann Stone Parrish. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James Melvin Hart and siblings Robert Parrish, Willie Joe "Buddy" Parrish and Barbara Ann Kelley.

Janice is survived by her children Steve & Christine Hart, Joey Hart, Kenneth Hart, Kristie & Jamie Watkins; siblings Doris Kelly, Mary Catherine Douglas and husband Thomas; grandchildren Austin Hart, Joseph Hart, Allison McDonald (Dayton), Kohlby Hart (Madyson), Carol Ann Hart, Emma Watkins, Allysah Wood, Angie Hart, Gracie Watkins and great-grandchildren Aliyah, Amylia, Ava, Murphy and Bryer.

Mrs. Hart was a strong yet loving woman who loved her family. In years past she attended First Weslyan Church. She grew up enjoying fishing and hunting. She loved flowers and vacationing at Holden Beach and fishing on the pier.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 10, 2026 from 12:00 to 1:00 PM at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home with the funeral service following at 1:00 PM with Chaplain Michael Tannenbaum officiating. Burial will follow at Lee Memory Gardens.
