Karen Cracraft, a longtime resident of Tracy, passed away at the age of 82 after a long illness at Ensenada Manor, surrounded by love and tranquility.
Born in 1943 in
Helena, Montana, she moved to California at the age of 18 after graduating from high school. She met the love of her life, James Cracraft, in 1963. They were married on March 19, 1966, and raised three beautiful children-two sons and one daughter. She worked at Pacific Bell for 40 years as an engineering assistant. She was always a hard worker and a devoted provider for her family, making sure they never went without. She enjoyed family excursions to Pescadero State Beach and Caswell Memorial State Park, as well as shopping trips with her daughter.
She spent many hours crafting, making photo albums for special occasions, and participating in Stampin' Up with friends. She loved playing Bingo and Bunco at the Tracy Community Center and the Tracy Moose Lodge. She enjoyed listening to country music classics, including Eddie Rabbitt, Kenny Rogers, Alabama, and Tim McGraw. She was a huge NASCAR fan and especially admired Dale Earnhardt Sr. She leaves behind many family members and friends who will cherish her memory.
She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, James Cracraft, in 2000. She is survived by her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, William and Connie Cracraft; sisters Nora Zullo (Nick) and Cathy Stevens (Jim); brothers Rick Mergenthaler (Ramona) and Pat Heaney (Jackie); her loving daughter, April Cracraft; and her two sons, Jim Cracraft (Lisa) and Keith Cracraft (Gina). She is also survived by her granddaughters Lyndsee Cracraft and Madison Worton (Gabriel); grandsons Justin Cracraft (Chelsie), Jacob Cracraft, Dylan Cracraft, and Zachary Cracraft; and great-grandchildren Claire, Kason, Lainey, and Layla.
