Margie Fern Allbright
March 1, 1928 - February 3, 2026
Margie Fern (Turpin) Allbright, 97, formerly of Shoals, passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at Springs Valley Meadows, French Lick.
Born March 1, 1928, in Orange County, she was the daughter of Noble and Opal (Brothers) Turpin.
She attended Campbell Grade School near where she was raised and attended West Baden High School.
Margie married Kenneth Allbright on September 9, 1949, and he preceded her in death on August 21, 1995.
Margie was a member of the Prospect Homemaker Club for 42 years.
In her younger years, she attended Scarlett Church and later became a member of Bonds Chapel in Orange County, and also attended Shoals Methodist Church.
Margie loved the simple things in life. She missed her loved ones that had gone on. After the death of her husband, she remained at the home place of the Allbright family, where she made it a welcoming place and tried to make it feel like home to all who visited. Margie loved being there for her family and was so thankful to all that helped her in so many ways. She was a caretaker for many family members, friends, and neighbors throughout her life. Margie was a terrific cook, loved tending to her garden and flowers, and admiring the purple martins outside of her home.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her sister-in-law, Emma Lou Turpin, of Orange City, Florida; and many nieces and nephews whom she thought of each as her own. They were all gracious to her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth; twelve siblings; and many other dear relatives.
Funeral service will be at Noon on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at the Queen-Lee Chapel of George Funeral Care, with Pastor John Moffatt officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until the service hour on Saturday, at the Queen-Lee Chapel in Shoals.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Springs Valley Meadows Flower Fund, in memory of Margie Allbright.
