MERRICK BACON Obituary

Funeral services for Mr. Merrick Lee Bacon, Sr. will be held at 2 PM Thursday, February 19, 2026, at Canaan Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Patrick officiating. Interment will be in Canaan Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 3 PM Tuesday February 17, 2026, at his mother's home, 483 Blackjack Road, Philadelphia, MS. John E. Stephens Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Merrick, 38, passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at Choctaw Health Center. He lived most of his life in the Pearl River Community. His hobbies included cutting hair, drawing, and spending time with his children and his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his biological father, Richard Cotton, father, Willard Bacon, Sr, grandparents, Bonnie Willis, Sudie Mae John Willis, Lee Bacon and Connie Bacon.

Survivors include mother, Norma Willis Bacon; daughters, Teyana Hailey Bacon, Jada Lynn Bacon; sons, Merrick Lee Bacon, Jr.; sisters, Clymene Johnson, Courtney Bacon, Isley Mingo; brothers, Jeremy Bacon, Brandon Nelson, Rashad Bacon, Willard Bacon, Jr., Stevie Bacon, Montae Bacon, Kaiser Cotton; Aunts, Kathleen Phillips, Tressie Hembree; Uncles, Robert Cotton, Bobby Phillips, Brent Hembree; special friend Lindsey.

Pallbearers are William Tubby, Kenneth Willis, Brandon Willis, Dontae Bacon, Justin Peace Willis, Nigel Gibson, Jonathan Thumper Rattler, Kyle John and Josh Thomas.
