Dana N. Bertrand, 64, Kewaunee, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 17, 2026. He was born in Chicago, IL on January 26, 1961, to the late Charles "Bert" and Jacqueline (Mitra) Bertrand.
Dana's love for art was passed down to him by his father and together they ran the local sign shop in Kewaunee for many years as well as the second shop in the Virgin Islands.
You cannot travel down a street in Kewaunee without seeing several homes that Dana had painted including most of the Victorian homes in the historical district.
His skills didn't stop with a paintbrush but continued with his remarkable carpentry skills. When Dana restored and renovated homes, he always went out of his way to save the home's original character and charm.
In Dana's earlier years he loved to spend time at Camp Winter with his brothers camping and fishing. His favorite things to do were to always make people laugh with his one-of-a-kind humor and sarcasm, listening to music and spending time with his grand kids.
Dana is survived by his children, Natasha "Beans" Bertrand, Gabrielle "Krocket" Becker, Sharda "Dayo" Jones, Jordan "Nancy" Roberts, Casey "Corn" Mcintyre; his grandchildren Johnny, Adrian, Eva, Clarence "Navarre", Emil, and Sofia; brothers Perry "Per" Castrovillari Sr., and Eric "The Deed" Bertrand.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers Kurt Bertrand and Casey Bertrand.
A visitation will take place Tuesday, January 27, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Kinnard Funeral & Cremation Services, Kewaunee. Funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Pat Ratajczak officiating.
