Michele Tipton Obituary

Michele Ann Tipton, 66, passed away on February 7, 2026 at the Kentucky River Medical Center in Jackson, Kentucky. Born on February 22, 1959 in Marietta, Georgia, she lived a life marked by dedication to education and a deep appreciation for the simple joys of life.

Michele pursued her passion for learning with determination, earning a master's degree that laid the foundation for her impactful career in education. She began her career as a professor at Kentucky Mountain Bible College (KMBC) and later as a teacher at Mount Carmel School, where she influenced countless students with her knowledge and commitment to academic excellence.

Beyond the classroom, Michele found joy in nurturing both people and plants. She was an avid gardener who took pride in cultivating beauty from the earth. Her hands were rarely still-whether crocheting intricate patterns, preparing home-cooked meals or turning the pages of a good book. These hobbies reflected her thoughtful nature and love for creating comfort and warmth in everyday life.

Michele is survived by her brothers, Gerry Tipton (Amber) and Bruce Tipton; her sister, Jennifer Tumey (Mark); her sister-in-law, Angie Tipton as well as many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, Amos and Marie Tipton, as well as her brothers, Frank Tipton and Paul Tipton.

A celebration of life service will be held Thursday, February 19, 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Kentucky Mountain Bible College Chapel at Mt. Carmel with Rob Pocai officiating.
