BOYLSTON: Richard A. “Rich” MacKenzie, 82, formerly of Clinton and Southbridge for many years, before moving to Boylston, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 8, 2026, in his home.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Susan M. (Chute) MacKenzie; their three children, Richard MacKenzie and his wife, Denise, Heather MacKenzie – Erickson, and Matthew MacKenzie and his wife, Iris; two sisters, Cindy and Patricia MacKenzie; two granddaughters, Katie and Emma; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his sister, Nancy Huff; and three brothers, Ronald, Robbie and Randy MacKenzie.
Born in Tonkawa, Oklahoma, Rich was the son of the late Cyril and Vivian (Wise) MacKenzie. He attended Weston High School and dedicated many years as a beloved school bus driver, retiring from Dee Bus Service. He was also the animal control officer in Sturbridge for many years. Known for his friendly demeanor, Rich enjoyed striking up conversations with anyone he encountered and had a passion for exploring in his truck, whether it was visiting his favorite store, Harbor Freight Tool, or stopping by a yard sale.
Calling Hours will be held from 10AM until 12PM, with a Funeral Service at 12PM, on Saturday, February 14, 2026, in the Fay Brothers Funeral Home, 1 West Boylston St., West Boylston. Burial will be private.
