Myrna Craig Obituary

Myrna V. Craig went home to glory on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, where she was joyfully reunited with her Lord and Savior, her beloved husband and the love of her life, Woodie Craig, and those who went before her.

Myrna was born on May 4, 1938, in Becker County, Minnesota, the daughter of Mathew and Milma (Haanpaa) Aho. On June 10, 1956, she was united in marriage to Woodie Craig in Park Rapids, Minnesota. Their wedding luncheon was held at her parents' home in Wolf Lake, a fitting beginning to a life rooted in family, faith, and love. Soon after their marriage, they moved to Montana for Woodie's work, where they welcomed four cherished daughters, Lynn, Valerie, Dustina and Orleen. In early 1962, Myrna and Woodie returned to Minnesota and settled in the Forest Lake area where they built two homes in Columbus, Minnesota. It was there that their only son, E. Buck Craig, was born. During those years, they formed many lifelong friendships, and Myrna worked in the cafeteria at Columbus Elementary School, a role that reflected her caring nature and love for children. In the early 1980s, the family moved to Hibbing, Minnesota, where they lived until 2001. Following Woodie's retirement, they made their home in North Branch, Minnesota. Myrna remained there until Woodie's passing when she moved in with her oldest daughter, Lynn. As her health declined, Myrna transitioned to Parmly Assisted Living in Chisago City, where she was lovingly cared for until her death.

Myrna found joy in simple pleasures-tending her garden, cross-country skiing, and, during her years in Columbus, selling strawberries from their home alongside Woodie and their children. Above all, her faith was central to her life, guiding her through every season and anchoring her with hope and grace.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Woodie Craig; her daughter, Valerie Ihrke; her grandson, Zachary Craig; and her siblings, Marlen Aho, Myra Aho, Melba Kriske, Maynard Aho, Mavis Nelson, and Mae Aho.

Myrna is survived by her children: Lynn (Tim) Stoltzman, Dustina (Jay) Erickson, Orleen (Mike) Haseltine, and E. Buck (Natasha) Craig; her son-in-law, Mark Ihrke; former daughter-in-law, Lori Broker; 14 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; her siblings, Margie (Lee) Kessler, Marian (Steve) Dahl, Myron Aho, and Murlene (Dan) Pihlaja; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 9, 2026, at Maranatha Assembly of God Church, 24799 Forest Blvd, Wyoming, Minnesota, with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will take place at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to RV Maps with Assembly of God, https://ppay.co/iPcpd17DPS4
