Virgil A. Graening, age 89 of Loudon, Tennessee passed away January 28, 2026.
Virgil was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who showed unconditional love to his family. He was a Charter Member of Shepherd of the Lake Lutheran Church in Tellico Village. Virgil worked in sales for many years before retiring to Tellico Village in 2008. He enjoyed golfing, woodworking and playing cards.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Anetta Graening; infant son David Dean; sisters Carol Reagan and Beverly Schmidt.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Maybeth Graening; sons Scott, Kevin (Melanie), Jason and Jaxon; grandchildren Sara, Michael, Alex and Katie; great grandchildren Charlotte, Hadden, Eleanor and Annie; sister Lavonne Miller and brother Larry (Jill) Graening; and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life/Funeral Service will be held on April 14, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Shepherd of the Lake Lutheran Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shepherd of the Lake Lutheran Church, 143 Chota Center, Loudon, TN 37774.
