William "Ed" Edward Faubert, age 59, of
Swayzee, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly on February 3, 2026. Though his time with us feels far too short, Ed filled his life with deep love, laughter, travel, music, and devotion to those he held close.
Ed was born on July 25, 1966, in
Lawrenceburg, Indiana, to Bill and Gracie (Stuard) Horstman. On October 24, 1992, he married the love of his life, Angela Sallee. For 33 years, they shared a life of love, travel, and exploration, always facing each chapter together.
Ed graduated from Klein Forest High School in Houston, Texas, Class of 1984. He later attended Indiana Wesleyan University, earning an Associate Degree in Business. He built a successful career in the plastics industry, working in the production side, technical service and finishing his career as an Engineering Technical Manager at Mayco International in Hartford City, Indiana. Ed was very proud of his skills and achievements in the plastics field, he maintained contacts and a network all around the world.
Ed was outgoing and warm-hearted, a man who never met a stranger. He was generous with his time, his resources, and his attention, always willing to help anyone in need. He loved traveling and seeing new places, embracing every opportunity for adventure. Music was one of his greatest passions. A talented drummer, Ed played in several church and garage bands throughout the years. Even without a drum set, he could turn a steering wheel or dashboard into a performance, bringing smiles and laughter wherever he went.
Above all, Ed was an amazing husband, father, and grandfather. He was deeply devoted to his family and took great pride in being present for the people he loved. He was his daughter's biggest supporter throughout her barrel racing career, always at the arena before her runs to tighten the cinch and make sure she was safe. He hauled her horses countless miles to shows, cherishing every moment and dollar spent together. Later in life, he proudly supported her race horses and continued to follow her as she chased her dreams. True to his nature, Ed's big heart extended to all animals, great and small.
Ed also found joy and camaraderie in RC car racing and rock crawling. He built his own cars with care and precision and competed with pride. Mostly, he loved to teach his grandson Wyatt how to build and drive his own cars. Through this passion, he found a second family among fellow RC enthusiasts and looked forward to every competition shared with them.
Those who will continue to carry on Ed's legacy of love include his beloved wife, Angela Faubert; his children, Karissa Jones (Jeff Dever), Todd Jones, and Christian Newman Faulkner; his grandchildren, Wyatt, Drew, and Bryce Jones (Gracie), Sonora Dever; and his great-grandchildren, Scarlett and Bennett Jones. He is also survived by his father, Bill Horstman (Carlene); siblings, Bruce Horstman and Shawn Horstman; his parents-in-law, Jerry and Brenda Sallee and brother-in-law Jerry Jr. Sallee; and many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Beyond his own family, Ed was a father figure to countless others, often described as the dad people never had but were blessed to find in him. He offered steady guidance, unconditional love, and a sense of belonging to anyone who needed it. His heart knew no limits, and the family he created through love, loyalty, and kindness will forever be part of his legacy.
Ed was joyfully welcomed into Heaven by his mother, Gracie, and her husband, Dick Faubert.
