RODERICK LAND Obituary

Roderick James Land Sr. Salem, N.J. Roderick James Land, Sr., age 78, of Salem, died Monday, November 14, 2016 in Salem Hospital. Born in Salem, he was the son of the late Woodrow & Elizabeth (Getty) Land. Roderick was a US Army veteran and worked as a machine operator for Anchor Glass Container in Salem for 33 years, retiring in 1995. He was a big football fan, and he anticipated every new season. He also enjoyed following NASCAR. Most of all, he loved and enjoyed his grandchildren. Mr. Land is survived by his wife of 52 years, Bette Jean (nee Dolbow); his son & daughter-in-law, Roderick Jr. & Bernadette Land; his daughter & son-in-law, Kim & Jeff Bilger; six grandchildren; his sisters, Lurene, Margaret, Debbie, Sheila, Bernadine, and Linda; and his brothers, Robert and Edward. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Michael Land; his sisters, Jeanette and Alberta; and his brother, William Land. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, November 19th in the H.T. Layton Funeral Home, 102 S. Main St., Woodstown, where friends are invited to visit from 12 PM until the time of service.
