David Bain Obituary

David A. Bain

November 23, 1959 - March 15, 2026

GREENWICH, NY - David A. Bain of Greenwich, NY, passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2026. David was born on November 23, 1959, in Brookfield, Illinois, to Henry and Harriet (Keys) Bain. He was raised on his family's farm in Greenwich with his brothers, Bob and Jim, and graduated from Greenwich Central School in 1977.

After high school, he attended the Community College of the Finger Lakes, where he was a brother of the Kappa Sigma Epsilon fraternity. There, he developed deep bonds with many of his "brothers," including George Marasi, Joe Krueger, Frank Saeva, and Frank Manfre. They remained lifelong friends.

David returned home to Greenwich, where he met Cindy Harris, the love of his life. They married, spent 45 years together, and raised two children in Cossayuna. Later, he became "Grampy" to four beautiful grandchildren. He developed an especially close bond with his grandson Maddox, and they shared many special memories together.

David was a longtime union pipefitter who worked hard to provide for his family and support his true passions of hunting and fishing. When he wasn't working or coaching his kids' sports teams, he was out in nature chasing deer, turkeys, or waterfowl with one of his beloved Labrador retrievers. He loved the outdoors and made several out-of-state hunting trips with his son, including a memorable trip to Kansas that culminated in a record-book whitetail.

Above all else, David was a devoted family man whose legacy will be the love, wisdom, and guidance he imparted to his family over the past 35 years-along with a few of his infamous dad jokes.

He is survived by his daughter Alexia Bain and her partner Wes Page, his son Ethan Bain and his wife Marley Bain, grandchildren Maddox, Ivy, Elise, and Samuel, his wife Cindy Bain, his brothers Bob Bain (Peggy DeGraw) and Jim Bain (Sheila Bain), his nieces Kathy and Tiffany, and nephews Robert, Shane, Dusten, and Jesse.

A celebration of life will be held for David's family at a date to be determined.
