David Sherrick Obituary

David J. Sherrick

Sep 26, 1946 - Mar 27, 2026

QUEENSBURY - Dr. David J. Sherrick of Queensbury, NY, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 27th, 2026, with his wife and daughter by his side.

Born on September 26th, 1946, in Nanticoke, Pennsylvania, David was the son of the late Frank and Helen (Stegura) Sherrick.

He graduated from Nanticoke High School in 1964 and went on to pursue his undergraduate education at Cornell and Temple Universities. In 1972 he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Temple University.

David proudly served his country in the United States Army, where he was stationed in Kitzingen, Germany. He served for three years and was honorably discharged with the rank of Captain in 1975.

Following his military service, David had a long and successful career in dentistry. In 1975, he began private practice in Glens Falls. David later moved to his new office building on Baywood Drive in Queensbury where he practiced until retirement in 2021. He thoroughly enjoyed taking care of his patients and getting to know them and their families.

David was an active member of the Glens Falls Rotary, the Fourth District Dental Society, and the New York State Dental Society.

Dave enjoyed traveling throughout Europe with his family during the time they lived in Germany. After moving to Queensbury, he became an avid runner and skier. He also enjoyed early morning walks with the family's many rescue dogs. Dave was a big Syracuse basketball fan and never missed watching the games on TV. He found great joy in the moments he got to spend with his daughter, Amy, at her horse farm.

In addition to his parents, David was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Howard Grabel and nephew, Brandon Zerfoss. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Linda and his beloved daughter, Amy. Also surviving him are his sister and brother-in-law Diane and Gerald Godshaw; sister Lorraine Sherrick; sister-in-law Wendie Zerfoss Grabel; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law F. Alan and Janice Zerfoss. David is also survived by many cherished nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

Dave's family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the wonderful, kind staff of Fort Hudson Health System for taking such good care of him and keeping a smile on his face these last few months. The family would also like to thank Dave's team of doctors who provided him with excellent care.

Calling hours are from 5-7 PM on Tuesday, April 7th, 2026 at the Singleton Sullivan Potter Funeral Home, 407 Bay Road, Queensbury, NY. Funeral service and burial at Pineview Cemetery, Queensbury, NY will be held for the family.
