Jesse L. Tuttle
September 16, 1941 - March 13, 2026
We honor and celebrate the life of Jesse L. Tuttle, who passed away on March 13, 2026, following a brief illness. He was born September 16, 1941, in Oneonta, N.Y., to the late, Jesse Earl and Emma (Jeffrey) Tuttle. He was a long-time resident of Greenwich, N.Y., where he left an indelible mark not only through his tireless work in historical preservation, but also through his infectious spirit and love of life. Jesse was a man of many talents and interests. He was the proud owner of Tuttle Construction Inc., a company he started in 1968 that was dedicated to the preservation of historical buildings throughout the capital district. Jesse's passion for his work was evident in every project he undertook, and his legacy can be seen in the many structures he helped to preserve.
Beyond his professional life, Jesse was a man of varied hobbies. He was an avid golfer, hunter, and fisherman, and he loved nothing more than spending a quiet morning with a cup of coffee on his porch or an evening with a glass of wine overlooking his bird feeders. Jesse was known for his stories and jokes, always ready with a laugh or a tall tale to brighten someone's day. His fireplace was known to always collect massive amounts of change, and he enjoyed his home. Jesse also served his country proudly in the United States Marine Corps from 1958 to 1960.
What mattered most to Jesse was his family. He was married to his beloved wife, Carol Helen Beach, on August 4, 1962, until her passing in 2016, and he was a loving father to his children, Jesse (Christine) Tuttle Sr. and Mary (Robert) Buell. Jesse found great joy in his role as a grandfather, always ready with a joke or a bit of mischief for his grandchildren, Jesse (Alycia) Tuttle Jr., Sarah (Thomas) Haynes, Robert (Camila) Buell, and Laura (Philip) Mastrosimone.
Jesse was preceded in death by his wife, Carol; brother, Howard Jeffrey Tuttle and sister, Junie Barkalow.
