During Paul's childhood he learned to fish and hunt from his father, John. He spent many hours in the Adirondacks exploring the countryside. During his teen years, he would camp with his parents at Fish Creek ponds. When his parents went home on Sunday, he would stay and backpack through the Adirondacks fishing as many ponds as he wanted to. He would meet up with his parents on Friday when they came back to Fish Creek Ponds. This gave him a love for fishing that lasted his entire life. When he was old enough to hunt, he went with his father, uncles and cousins to Indian Lake where he learned to drive the deer to people on watch. Dad enjoyed time camping, hiking and fishing with his wife Cathy and his children Kim and Mike. They went all over the Adirondacks trying many ponds and lakes. As his children grew up, Paul found his second fishing family; Joe Eggleston, Rick Viele, Mike Currie, Roger Delano and Curt Sweet. They enjoyed many fishing trips staying on Flood Wood Road or in the lean-to at Sunday Pond Bed & Breakfast. Fishing several Adirondack lakes and ponds always bringing home trout for their families to enjoy.
