Sarah Gillmore Obituary

Gillmore, Sarah Ann "Sally"

peacefully went home to her Lord on December 24, 2025. Sally was born February 18, 1940, in Providence, Rhode Island, to the late Elizabeth Creamer and Irwin Sutherin. The eldest of four siblings, she was bright, intelligent, and creative from an early age. With determination and exceptional mathematical aptitude, Sally built a successful career in computer programming, becoming one of the first female computer programmers in Pinellas County, Florida. She retired in 2005. Sally was an avid reader who loved crossword puzzles and enjoyed both sporting events and the arts. Known for her contagious laughter, resilience, and strength, Sally found joy and brought joy to others throughout her life. Sally's connections with family and friends spanned a lifetime. Her gift of unconditional love and forgiveness will live on in the hearts of those who knew her. She was preceded in death by her mother, Elizabeth Creamer, and her brothers, Howard and Richard Sutherin. She is survived by her brother, Raymond J. Creamer, Jr; her stepdaughter and two granddaughters; sister-in-law, Midge Lagerstrom, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, January 31, 2026, 11 am at St. John's Episcopal Church, 1676 Belcher Road, Clearwater. Family and friends are invited to gather, share stories, and honor her beautiful life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or a local animal shelter of your choice.

I was Sally's hairstylist until my retirement in 2021. Our 1st appointment, we didn't see eye to eye when it came to who was correct. I found an equal to my stubbornness! It didn't take long before I started to admire the strength and empathy she unconditionally gave. She became a true friend, and I am grateful that I had the honor of knowing this person. I can see her "having a conversation" with St. Peter upon arriving at the Gates of Heaven about her appointment time! (We always had a good chuckle about our 1st meeting) Sally, I will miss you, and I'm sure there are a lot of others that will also.
