HELEN "MARIE" TRAYNE (nee KOSTOFF) HAMMOND, IN Helen Marie Trayne, age 89, of Hammond passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 12, 2017. Marie is survived by her beloved husband of 66 years, Thomas W. Trayne; numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews including her devoted niece Susan (Rick) Bakker. Many friends including her two faithful and loving caregivers Tracy and Meghan. Marie was preceded in death by her son Thomas Jr. and daughter Janet Trayne as well as her parents, George and Anna Kostoff. Funeral service will be held on Friday, February 17, 2017 directly at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 7137 Arizona Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) with a mass of Christian burial at 10:00 a.m. with Father Charles Mosley celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Hammond. Friends are invited to meet with the family for visitation on Thursday February 16, 2017 at Bocken Funeral Home 7042 Kennedy Ave. Hammond, (Hessville) from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. There will also be a time of visitation at the church on Friday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the mass at 10:00 a.m. Marie was a life long Lake County resident. She was a longtime faithful member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church and member of the Alter Rosary Society. Marie had a passion and gift to paint and leaves many beautiful oil paintings.
