Phyllis Paulette "Polly" Greer
Dakota Dunes
Phyllis Paulette "Polly" Greer, 73, of Dakota Dunes, passed away on Monday, Oct. 17, 2022 at her home.
A Celebration of Life Service will be on Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2022 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the North Sioux City Community Center, in North Sioux City. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.meyerbroschapels.com. Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel is assisting the family.
Polly was born on Aug. 22, 1949 in Paragould, Ark. to Clarence and Dorothy (Scott) Baker. She completed school in Paragould, and continued her education by graduating from beauty school. On June 30, 1967, Polly married Billy C. "Mr. Bill" Greer in Paragould. She opened her own beauty shop in Flint, Mich., called Colonial House of Hair Design. In 1991, she and Mr. Bill started a new chapter in their life as owners of the K.O.A. Campgrounds in North Sioux City. The job was in many ways the love of their life, with the couple working tirelessly to make it an award-winning K.O.A.
Polly and Mr. Bill were friendly, enthusiastic for life, and both people oriented, making lifelong friends through the campground. In 2007, they sold the campground and started chapter three in their years together. They traveled the United States, including the ALCAN to Alaska, cruises with family, and just spending more time with each other, more time with family, and watching their grandchildren grow and play. Left to cherish her memories are her sons, Shan Greer of Portland, Ore., and Scott (Casey) Greer of North Sioux City; two grandchildren, Cristian and Delanee Greer; her first camping and lifelong friends, Doug and Krystal Gough; her special grandchildren, Macenzie Gough, Tucker Carlson, and Spencer Gough; brother Dale Baker of Michigan; and numerous other extended family members.
Polly was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Mr. Bill, in 2013, and brother Clarence Baker.
