Cindi A. Tekrony, age 76, of Waverly passed away Saturday, February 7, 2026 at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale.
Celebration of Life will take place Saturday, March 7, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home (141 E 1st St.) in Waconia with Rev. Matt Schroeder as officiant. Visitation from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
Cindi Ann was born November 19, 1949 in
Sacramento, CA, the daughter of James and Dorothy (Gentz) Schwichtenberg. She grew up in California and moved to Minnesota her senior year where she graduated from Waconia High School. In June of 1968, Cindi was united in marriage to Joe Jansen. On October 7, 1978, Cindi was united in marriage to William TeKrony.
After marriage, the couple settled in Mound. Cindi held positions with Goldfine, Silverman and Olson, Circuit Board One and for Nordic Trac. She enjoyed giving back to her community and served on various boards. In 1992, Cindi relocated to Texas and remained there for 22 years. In
Plano, TX, she owned and operated Furniture Medic. Then in 2014, Cindi and Bill moved back to Minnesota to be closer to family.
Free moments were spent with family and friends, whether hosting family gatherings, travelling or playing cards, especially Hearts. She delighted in crafting, gardening, canning, cooking and making treats for her grandchildren. She also loved feeding and watching the birds.
Cindi was preceded in death by her husband Bill; father James Schwichtenberg; brother-in-law Carl Matter.
Cindi is survived by her loving family: son Rodney Jansen of Mound; daughter Tonya (Randall "Max") Whitton of Waverly; grandchildren Miranda (Coby) Blum, Axel Jansen, Dekker Jansen, Allana Jansen, Mallory Whitton, Brooke Whitton; great-grandchildren Lilly Blum, Benson Blum; mother Dorothy Stender of Waconia; siblings Susan (Larry) Dressen of Waconia, Greg (Linda) Schwichtenberg of Belle Plaine, Alan (Tina) Schwichtenberg of Phoenix, AZ, Tim (Marilee) Schwichtenberg of Belle Plaine, Laurie (Jack) Lysne of Savage, Randy (Amy) Stender of Belle Plaine; sister-in-law Linda Matter of South Dakota; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
