BILLIE SHULL Obituary

Billie Bishop Shull passed away on May 29, 2020 in Sun City, Arizona, due to complications of pulmonary fibrosis. She fought so hard and never gave up. Billie was born in Cortez, Colorado, on October 13, 1943, to Robert and Pearl Aulston Bishop. She was raised in Arriola and graduated from Montezuma County High School. She was married to Jerry Neely and she was very proud of their children, Greg Neely and his wife Melody Neely of Ft. Collins, CO and Laura Neely Stanbro of Greenville, SC. She loved living on their farm outside of Cortez, hunting, fishing, gardening, and she never missed a baseball game or wrestling match.

She worked for many years at First National Bank in Cortez, from teller to computer department manager. Billie moved to Los Alamos, NM, in 1990, and was married to Charles Shull for the remainder of her life. She enjoyed time at their lake cabin on weekends and she was a true fan at every possible Bronco and Rockies game. Billie retired from her job as a senior project assistant at the Los Alamos Laboratory and enjoyed her time on long road trips with Chuck, drives through the mountains, crafts, cooking big family meals, and baking for all her friends and family.

The past two years she was so happy to get warm in Sun City, AZ. She cherished the time she spent in Arizona with Chuck, her brother Robert "Dan" Bishop (Maggie) of Arriola and her sister Sandy Williams (Bill) of Cortez. She was such a good and loving grandmother and felt blessed to have six grandchildren, Rodney Voth, Megan Stanbro Rogers (Michael), Caitland Stanbro, Erin Neely Hamblen (Josh), Tyler Stanbro and Rachel Stanbro, and two great grandchildren, Parker Hamblen and Ella Hamblen. She also cared deeply for all of her special nieces and nephews, her brothers-in-law, her sisters-in-law, and so many friends.

Billie was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Michael Bishop and David Bishop, her nephews Rodney Bishop and Brently Bishop, and stepson Jeffrey Shull. Billie was kind, loving, and a fierce defender of her family and so many loved friends. She was deeply loved and will be desperately missed. Due to the COVID-19 Virus, a memorial will be planned for late Summer or early Fall when friends and family can gather to celebrate her life. Go Broncos! Go Rockies!
