Bobby Likes Obituary

Memorial services for Bobby Gene "Bob" Likes will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 4 at the First United Methodist Church with Reverend Tom Towns and Chaplain Marvin Graves officiating.

Bobby "Bob" Gene Likes (75) went to his heavenly father on May 31, 2014.

He was born on Jan. 31, 1939, in Cortez, to the late Dale and Edith Likes. He spent his early years in the Lewis-Arriola area. On Aug. 12, 1961, he married the late Fay Conrad, and had three children - Lana Waters (David), son Les Likes (Susan), and son Brett Likes.

On Feb. 1, 1986, he married Terri Fuhrman, who brought three children to the family, whom Bob embraced as his own; son Troy Fuhrman (Joanna), son Delvin Fuhrman (Rosie), and daughter Kim Rule (Keith).

Bob was an avid baseball fan, spent many years coaching teams in the Cortez area and enjoyed watching his sons and grandsons play. He also loved spending time with friends and family hunting, camping, fishing or rock hunting.

Bob worked many jobs, but his longest employment was for Southwest Beverage in Durango, for about 30 years. Afterward, he semiretired, maintaining rental properties.

Bob is survived by wife Terri; his children; brothers Larry Likes (Kay) and Duane Likes (Barbara); sister Beverly Papoff (Rick); uncle Charles Newby (Carol); and many cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family.

Bob also leaves behind his loving grandchildren: Tiffani and Ryan Waters, Jessie, Cody, Lizabeth and Bobby Likes, Korie Likes, Michael Necaise, Kyler and Braden Faulk, Randia and Chase Rule, Elizabeth Kellison and a great-grandchild.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Bob Likes' name at the Community Banks of Colorado, 1438 East Main Street, Cortez, Colo. 81321, 970-564-0200. Funds will go to the Mercy Health Foundation Cancer Center and Little League Baseball of Cortez.
