We are a small cultural education non-profit which discovered Wild Rivers through David Grant Noble who led us on field trips with Charlie and his incredible boatmen (including a talented daughter) and we always stayed at Recapture Lodge and their office was then located next door. We could just walk over to our orientation talk and looking forward to every legendary trip down the mighty San Juan. We will always treasure the stories, the sights, the leadership and the love expressed for Charlie and his beloved company who took such good care of us for quite a few years...and if it hadn't been for Tony Hillerman talking about Wild Rivers (a story he loved to tell us on our study tours offered in his name) there are thousands of others who would never have known about this incredible man and his family. We are never without good stories and memories from those days and reminded of them the closer we get to Bluff, Utah. His name is alive and well in our hearts and on our tongues. I apologize for sending this so long after his passing but never will we ever forget. Alan Osborne and Connie Eichstaedt Southwestseminars.org
