Charlotte Hutchison Obituary

Longtime Cortez resident, Charlotte Hutchison, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 17, 2021 at Vista Grande Inn in Cortez at the age of 95. Charlotte was born on April 21, 1926 in Arkansas City, KS, to Verna and Raymond Sharer. She married William Chester "Bill" Hutchison on August 17, 1948 in Arkansas City, KS, and they shared nearly 63 years of marriage. Charlotte and Bill moved to Cortez in 1958, and were active members of the community throughout their lives. Charlotte was a member of Montezuma Valley Presbyterian Church, singing in the choir, teaching Sunday school and serving as a Deacon. She was a long time member of PEO Chapter DD. Charlotte enjoyed a career as a realtor selling homes in Cortez from 1979 - 1989. She also volunteered at the Cortez Welcome Center, Cortez Meals on Wheels, and was a Girl Scout leader. Surviving Charlotte are her loving daughters, Darby Young and husband Jerry of East Wenatchee, WA, and Beth Burch and husband Dan of Newport, OR; by four grandchildren, Justin Burch, Melissa Bailey, William Burch and Charles Young; and by five great-grandchildren, Devin Burch, Makayla Zimel, Adalynn Burch, Arne Bailey and Emmett Campbell. Charlotte was preceded in death by her mother Verna; her beloved husband Bill, her brother Philip Sharer, and her sister Rose Margaret Sherwood.

I am so sorry to hear about Charlotte's passing. I was a friend/school mate of her daughter "Beth", and will always remember how kind and gentle Charlotte was to me as a child. Prayers for peace and comfort to the whole family.
