Chee Neskahi Obituary

A gravesite service and celebration of Chee Albert Neskahi's life will be held on Thursday, March 15 at 3 p.m. at the Cortez Cemetery; arrangements are being handled by his family and friends. Chee was born on Dec. 8, 1979 in Cortez, and passed away on Saturday, March 10, 2012 in Dodge City, Kan. at the age of 32.

Chee graduated from Montezuma-Cortez High School in May of 1998. He attended New Mexico State University where he cheered on the squad for the Aggie's. He then attended Fort Lewis College in Durango. Chee loved to hike and bicycle in the beautiful mountainous outdoors of Colorado. He traveled and lived many other places throughout the Southwest. It was never hard for him to make a friend wherever and whenever he ventured out. Chee always had a positive outlook on life; he loved to laugh and especially loved to make other people laugh! Chee will be laid to rest here in beautiful Southwest Colorado.

Surviving Chee are his parents Art Neskahi and Pamela Kidd; brothers Aric and Roy Neskahi; half-brothers Dewarren and Dwight Marshell; half-sister Rotinya Marshell; and numerous aunts and uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces and many, many friends.

Chee was preceded in death by grandparents Allan and Mary Neskahi; Roy and Evelyn Stuckey; uncles Allie, Albert and Andrew Neskahi; and cousin Alan Keith Neskahi.

Potluck dinner and a celebration of Chee's life will follow at the Lewis-Arriola Community Center, seven miles north of Cortez on Hwy. 491, left on Road S. In lieu of flowers, please contact the family if you would like to make a memorial donation or contribution in Chee's name.
