Dan was one of the most beautiful souls on this planet. Dan, I imagine you have made a lot of friends and a lot of beautiful music in Heaven. We'll all see you there.

I am so sorry to hear of Dan's passing. He was very generous with his help on my violins and one that I bought from him. He was a good man.

Although our acquaintance was originally business, Dan became a friend. When my wife inherited the family Stradivarius, Dan made it work. And then he played it with love. We miss you.

Thanks Dan for building our log house! You were so nice to work with and our house is beautiful! Also, thanks for sharing your love of music with me and giving me a guitar for the children to learn how to play. So sorry we didn't get to fulfill your dream of a jam session at my new house as it is still being finished up inside! Rest In Peace friend!

I ran into dan pretty often around town. We originally met because I needed work done on my violin. He always had a smile and was cheerful. He loved showing me the work he had done to bring the instruments back to life! I ran into him this summer for the last time and we sat at a table and talked for two hours. He talked about his jerky making, hunting and everything else that popped into our heads. I will miss running into him. His smile could make everyone around him smile because he was a truly happy person.

Everyone was put on this beautiful world with a purpose. My Uncle Dannys purpose was to spread happiness. He had an infectious smile that would spread like wildfire across a room. He was one of those people that others are naturally drawn to. He always had a smile on his face, especially playing music. It didnt matter what kind of music, as long as it moved him. I always remember the weekly bluegrass sessions in our living room. Grandpa Earl and my Aunt and Uncles all with their instruments. It usually took about an hour for everyone to get in tune....but looking back, it was worth the wait.
Uncle Danny taught me alot of things. He taught me to respect nature and only take what i need. He taught me how to make knives and elk jerky. He showed me that every day can be a good day if we just let it be.
As a child i would ride on his back in the north branch whitefish river. When i got a bit older, we climbed a mountain in Colorado and touched the sky.
We i was 21 we sat naked (because that how mountain men do) in the natural hot springs in Dunton.
He took me to the log yards and showed me how to find the best logs for building a cabin up to his standards.
When you were with Uncle Danny, you were always learning, because he was always teaching. He didnt realize he was teaching, it was just how he did things. Watching him was a learning experience. The way he just smiled and people wanted to talk to him. He lived by the rule of "Treat others as you would like to be treated.
There is not enough space to truly tell all the amazing contributions he made to my life, so i hope he knew what he meant to me.
Uncle Danny didnt want a big deal made,so i hope that everyone takes the time to remember all those good times, the laughs, the stories, the music, the talent and the joy that he gave to everyone lucky enough to know him.
I love you Uncle Danny
